About the Role

The Software Engineer II - ServiceNow role involves working with various ServiceNow technologies including custom applications, workflows, integrations, and configurations. The position includes maintaining and developing ServiceNow workflows, supporting existing applications, and participating in technical design and troubleshooting. The role is based at Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc., located in Columbia, MD, with telework permitted two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Work with various ServiceNow technologies including Custom Applications, Workflows, Integration, configuration, Customization, Orchestration.
Maintain ServiceNow workflows and records creation methods.
Implement vendor plug-ins from the ServiceNow Store.
Participate in new development, modification of the front-end, business logic, and integrate with Web API/Web services.
Provide support, maintain, and improve existing applications.
Contribute to requirements-gathering and technical design of applications.
Troubleshoot and solve problems as necessary.
Follow source code and project tracking using ServiceNow, MS Team Foundation Server or GIT.
Adhere to the company's design, development, test, implementation, and maintenance standards.
Participate in project status meetings and provide project status updates.
Coach and mentor junior development team members in design, coding, continuous integration, and agile development methodologies.

Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT Management or a related field and 2 years of experience as ServiceNow Developer, Software Engineer, or in IT.
Or Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT Management or a related field and 4 years of experience as ServiceNow Developer, Software Engineer, or in IT.
Prior experience with testing terminology.
Experience with ServiceNow, JavaScript, and object-oriented design principles.
Relational database skills using SQL Server, report development using ServiceNow, and Windows Server.
Experience with consuming APIs and Web services.
TSQL programming.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
ServiceNow Application Developer or Administrator certification.
