About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer III for the Developer Platform team. This role will aid in providing valuable solutions for the Developer Experience and Productivity Engineering group. We are looking for someone who will be able to contribute with expertise in programming, coupled with strong skills in Generative AI for Global Technology Platform organization. Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization, including data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient software applications using Java, Node JS, or Python / Golang.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Implement and integrate Generative AI models to improve software functionality and user experience.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in Generative AI and software development.

Requirements

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud).
Solid experience with Java, Node JS, or Python.
Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and reasoning skills.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience creating inclusive digital experiences.
Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.

Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Masters in Computer Science (preferred).
