About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search, including AI-driven features in productivity tools like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Vids, and Meet. We seek engineers who bring fresh ideas from various areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile development. As a software engineer, you will work on critical projects, have opportunities to switch teams, and contribute to shaping the future of productivity tools and AI technology, impacting billions of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Implement GenAI solutions, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to data preparation, optimization, and performance enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (LLM, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) and experience with text, image, video, or audio generation.
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or higher, with preferred qualifications of a Master's degree or PhD in a related field.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
  • Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
  • Additional benefits are available, details of which can be shared during the hiring process.
