About the Role
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Display Ads is an evolving product developed and maintained by a small team, providing a real-time bidding advertising platform for sophisticated large advertisers and advertising agencies. Our product operates in an evolving and engaging market with multiple performers innovating at a changing pace. We're looking for candidates with experience in distributed systems, data processing, low latency, end-to-end system design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop reporting features to support the product.
- Conduct infrastructure migrations as needed for sustainability and scalability.
- Maintain reporting infrastructure to support the growth of the product.
- Support customers with investigation/troubleshooting of escalations.
- Be on call for the system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience with Large-Scale Data Processing.
- Experience with System Design.
- Experience with SQL.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in Coding in C++.
- Experience with SQL Pipelines and Data Analysis.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits & Perks
- US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
- Individual pay is influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
- Additional benefits include bonus, equity, and other perks (details available during hiring).
