About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search, including areas like information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. As a software engineer, you will work on critical projects, have opportunities to switch teams, and contribute to innovative solutions that impact billions of users worldwide. The role involves working with model builders (Google DeepMind), collaborating with exceptional leaders, and shaping the future of productivity tools with AI advancements.

Key Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
Experience in Generative AI (Large Language Models, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models).
Experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, natural language processing or other ML discipline.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

Qualifications

Educational background including a Bachelor's degree or higher.
Experience with software development, data structures, algorithms, and AI technologies.

Benefits & Perks

US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on work location, skills, experience, and education.
Additional benefits include bonus, equity, and other perks as outlined by Google.
