About the Role

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Build Micro services that will run on the bank's internal cloud and the public cloud platform
Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team
Handle critical and time sensitive concurrent tasks with supervision and properly escalate situations as appropriate
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Exhibits excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

Requirements

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda) and deploying/managing applications in a cloud environment
Proficiency in coding in one or more languages
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML, mobile)

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Apache Spark, including RDDs, Data Frames, and Spark SQL
OOP principles and design patterns
Experience with Spring Ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
3+ years of applied experience in software engineering
