About the Role

Vision Research is a leading manufacturer of high-speed digital imaging systems that are indispensable across a wide variety of applications. The company designs and manufactures the most comprehensive range of digital high-speed cameras available today, all of which deliver unsurpassed light sensitivity, image resolution, acquisition speed, and image quality. This internship focuses on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to assist in the generation of unit-level test code for both a Qt-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) application and a C/C++ Software Development Kit (SDK). The intern will work closely with the software and test engineering teams to integrate AI tools into the development workflow, improving test coverage, efficiency, and reliability of our software products that support Phantom Cameras.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers to design and implement AI-assisted tools for generating unit tests.
Develop and maintain unit tests for a Qt-based desktop GUI application.
Develop and maintain unit tests for a C/C++ SDK that interfaces with Phantom Cameras.
Integrate AI models or APIs (e.g., LLMs, code generation tools) into the test development pipeline.
Analyze test coverage and identify areas for improvement.
Assist in the development of test strategies that are cost-effective and scalable.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong understanding of C/C++ and unit testing frameworks (e.g., Google Test, Catch2).
Familiarity with GUI application development.
Familiarity with Qt is a plus.
Interest or experience in AI/ML, especially in code generation or natural language processing.
Experience with Python and scripting for automation.
Proficiency with Microsoft development tools and environments.
Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Qt.

Qualifications

Pursuing a B.S. in a relevant technical field.
