About the Role

Iron Systems is an innovative, customer-focused provider of custom-built computing infrastructure platforms such as network servers, storage, OEM/ODM appliances & embedded systems. The Reality Labs team at Meta is focused on building world-class Augmented and Mixed Reality hardware and software, driving cutting-edge research and development in areas like AR/MR, computer vision, haptics, and social interaction. The XR Tech organization develops core capabilities across product domains including Spatial AI, Avatars, AR/MR remote presence/calling, AR Commerce, and AR Sharing, supporting products like Quest, Meta Glasses, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement core data collection tooling components.
Conduct design and code reviews.
Maintain, analyze, and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system infrastructure.
Establish oneself as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding.
Successfully complete projects at large scope while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Participate in meetings with team members on projects, write design documents, brainstorm and present designs, and maintain production systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in Python or C++, and experience in developing, debugging, and optimizing user-facing applications.
Experience with Linux command-line tools and shell scripting.
Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting, including tools like iwconfig, ifconfig, netstat, and tcpdump.
Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and document troubleshooting steps and solutions.
2+ years of industrial experience in a relevant technical role.

Nice to Have

MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Knowledge of Android Debug Bridge (ADB) for device communication and control.
Experience with debugging tools for diagnosing and resolving issues within the Linux operating system and networking layers.
Familiarity with Ethernet and WiFi networking protocols.
Strong skills in writing and debugging bash scripts for automation tasks such as log collection, system monitoring, and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field.
