As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
  • Proposes and designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Facilitates complex problem resolution.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Extremely strong in COBOL/JCL programming.
  • Should be familiar with Endevor, mainframe DB2 database concepts, CICS Online Programs and VSAM files.
  • Experience working with Easytrieve to build quick extracts.
  • Strong analytical skills, experience working with remote teams, managing deliverables of a team, ability to work with business and operations to understand requirements and create high level and low level designs to meet requirements is a plus.
  • Comfortable with learning new technologies not previously familiar with.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.

Nice to Have

  • Financial Institution experience.
  • Experience using ZOS connect tool to build/maintain rest APIs.
