About the Role

The Display Products organization at Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Architect with Software and Systems engineering experience to lead the strategy and development of software architecture processes and tools for user interface and user experience products. The role involves identifying modernization opportunities, enforcing design principles, facilitating technical coordination, and evaluating software implementation decisions to maintain architectural integrity throughout the program. The position is part of Lockheed Martin's RMS business, a global aerospace, defense, and security company dedicated to innovation and scientific discovery, with a focus on collaboration, excellence, and integrity. The role offers full-time remote work, competitive benefits, and a salary range of $110,500 - $198,422 depending on location.

Key Responsibilities

Set the strategy and road map for software architecture processes and tools for the user interface/user experience product line.
Identify investment opportunities and select tech stacks to modernize the software architecture.
Enforce design principles across the product line.
Facilitate and drive coordination during active technical issues.
Engage in requirement, design, and code interchanges and reviews.
Lead product demos and presentations.
Create and maintain deployment structures and product pipelines.
Evaluate software implementation decisions to ensure architectural integrity is maintained throughout the program.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree with relevant coursework.
Minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience.
Proven ability to lead a team in a group development environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Level Clearance.
Well organized and a self-starter.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with DevSecOps Technologies and/or Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, or Visual Studio Code.
Experience with software development in Linux and/or Windows.
Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies (SCRUM, SAFe, Pair Programming).
Familiarity with UML and/or SysML, DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw, or IBM Rhapsody.
Familiarity developing microservices.
Familiarity with Virtual Machines.
Familiarity with Cloud Platform providers (Amazon Web Services, Azure).
Familiarity with Containerization and Orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) or Gitlab.
Familiarity with secure coding practices.
Familiarity with Automation Frameworks such as Robot, Junit, Sikuli, or others.
Experience supporting program proposals and performing software estimates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
