The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Software Engineer to join the High Fidelity Virtual Cab (HFVC) team based in Seal Beach, California. This role involves leading the development and integration of airplane models, simulations, and hardware emulations using high fidelity Unreal game engine visualizations of Boeing aircraft and flight decks. The position supports solving complex problems through ingenuity and innovation, working in a multi-program environment, and adapting to new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Leads the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Partners with stakeholders to lead the review and identification of simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.
Leads the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.
Leads validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.
Leads the documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models.
Partners with cross functional engineering teams to lead integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.
Leads implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in C/C++ programming.
5+ years of experience in Linux, Windows, Microsoft Azure, AWS.
5+ years of experience using GitLab and/or Jira.
Ability to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.

Nice to Have

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
Experience working on aircraft training systems or modeling and simulation projects.
Knowledge of software models, simulations, frameworks, and applications with higher order programming languages, assembly, and auto-code.
Ability to perform API design, implementation, and testing.
Knowledge of real-time software architecture, design methodologies, and real-time requirements.
Knowledge of build and execution environments, verification, validation, certification, and qualification processes.
Experience in software testing processes and integration-testing tools.
Knowledge of 2D/3D computer graphics, visual analytics, image processing algorithms, and hardware/software integration.
Knowledge of cloud architecture, containerization, networking, and security best practices.
Understanding of specifications, standards, and aircraft/product certification systems.
Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines and requirements traceability.
Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies.
