About the Role

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000 - $144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States. The role is for a Senior Software Engineer in the Energy and Sustainability Services group, with a preferred location in Louisville, Kentucky. The position involves designing and implementing business-critical applications, leveraging technologies like Azure, IoT, AI, and machine learning to develop sustainable solutions that optimize energy usage and reduce carbon footprint. Key Responsibilities

  • Work on a talented team of experienced architects and developers building SaaS-based energy and sustainability solutions for business clients and customers.
  • Develop and enhance core business systems and applications, and provide integration to other internal and external systems.
  • Be an integral part of a professional team responsible for all aspects of software design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Support and enhance the Enterprise Architecture of the Energy and Sustainability Services through technology review, ideation, project development, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software solutions that address sustainability challenges.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using .NET Core and C#.
  • Integrate sustainability metrics and data into software systems.
  • Develop APIs and web services for data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to sustainability.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer, Software, Engineering or related field.
  • Extensive experience with designing application solutions based on REST-based APIs using .NET Core and C#.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing; experience of building scalable, resilient applications using Azure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), its principles, and patterns at the enterprise level.
  • Experience in data modeling techniques and normal forms.
  • Experience working in collaborative teams and in an agile manner.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core Web API, Application Architecture, and Design Patterns.
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks like AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of Azure services such as Web Apps, Web Jobs, Data Factory, Storage, App Insights, Azure Functions, CI/CD, Service Bus, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with SQL Server, NoSQL databases, and data integration and analysis.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and patterns.
  • Experience with energy or sustainability industry knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer, Software, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
