About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The role involves working on specific projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google, focusing on user-centered experiences across client-side (web and mobile), server-side (search, storage, serving), and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision). The team is dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

Key Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Collaborate cross functionally to design, build and deploy exciting new product features in the Photos Android App.
Work with other engineers to continuously improve our software components and architecture.
Help ensure continued users' trust in Google Photos.
Identify, triage, debug, track and resolve issues in existing code.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience Android application development.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
2 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
Experience working with photos/videos, image & video manipulation, and/or OpenGL ES.
Experience building user interfaces in Android applications (Jetpack Compose UI).
Experience building Android applications.

Qualifications

Formal educational background in Computer Science or related field (implied by degree requirements).

Benefits & Perks

US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Benefits are determined by role, level, and location, and include bonus, equity, and other benefits.
