About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We are looking for versatile engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. As a software engineer, you will work on specific projects critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our fast-paced business grows and evolves. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google, and we are seeking software engineers for client-side, server-side, and machine intelligence roles to make Google experiences centered around the user.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the integration of models into user-facing features with strong ownership.
Translate ideas into functional demos, enabling swift iteration and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Partner closely with product, analytics, and privacy teams to refine requirements, define success metrics, and ensure responsible and impactful feature launches.
Onboard and scale Large Language Models (LLMs) to our production infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with user-facing features.
Build adaptable and resilient code that can evolve alongside rapid advancements in LLM technology, maintaining high standards to guarantee a flawless experience for billions of users.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in Python or Java, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience with Large Language Models.

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science or related field (implied by degree requirements).

Benefits & Perks

US base salary range of $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
Salary ranges determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on work location, skills, experience, and education.
