About the Role
Reality Labs Research (RL-R) brings together a highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers with a broad range of experiences, perspectives, approaches, and backgrounds to create the future of augmented and virtual reality. Our team aims to define the worldwide standard for extended reality (XR) interaction with unparalleled software that accelerates research and creates novel functionality. This requires a passion for accelerating researchers building models in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) research. In our collaborative environment, you'll partner with expert research scientists, hardware engineers, and software developers to build groundbreaking interaction hardware. You will tackle interesting technical challenges in AI to revolutionize how people interact with computing devices. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with research scientists, hardware engineers, and software developers to build innovative interaction hardware.
- Address technical challenges in AI to improve human-computer interaction.
- Contribute to the development of software that accelerates research and creates new functionalities in XR.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience with Python/Jupyter software development.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Proven track record of shipping software.
- Experience with software development practices such as source control, code reviews, unit testing, and debugging.
- Experience with NumPy, OpenCV, or PIL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Experience with 3D math and linear algebra.
- Experience with RPC frameworks (Thrift or similar).
- Experience developing and managing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with PHP or Hack.
- Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript, Flow, or TypeScript.
Nice to Have
- Experience with hardware integration or augmented/virtual reality systems.
- Knowledge of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) research methodologies.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical field.
