About the Role

You will be the Software Engineer Sr for a Mission Systems (MS) Test Planning and Execution Team within an I&T Organization responsible for the integration and test of supplier procured software & hardware products with Lockheed Martin developed software capabilities. This team focuses on system-level integration and test in a laboratory environment using hardware-in-the-loop and modeling and simulation tools to mature a Mission Systems suite prior to release. Activities will include development of automated testing solutions for a Mission Systems SW suite, development and maintenance of automated testing infrastructure, development of software test harnesses and APIs, and the integration of COTS automation tools into the automated test infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working heavily with products such as Red Hat Linux's Ansible, Cucumber, Kubernetes, Helm, and Gitlab.
  • Be a self-starter, operating on a small team of high performing self-starters, and implementing these COTS tools in novel ways on air-gapped (classified) networks.
  • Willing to learn new and eclectic technical skills outside of their comfort-zone and be open-minded to diving into whatever technical challenges call attention in their periphery.
  • External (customer) and internal (Lockheed decision makers) communication will be required.
  • Leadership abilities needed to assist a team of multidisciplinary engineers to quickly determine and implement their test automation needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or above degree in engineering/technical discipline or 8+ years of relevant/related experience.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat preferred).
  • Experience with Git Software Configuration Management.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code approaches (Ansible preferred).
  • Experience with Helm and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with the automation of software-based systems.
  • Experience with software languages such as Java, C++, Python, etc.
  • Experience with software test tools that deal with application behavior, such as Cucumber.
  • Experience with container virtualization technologies such as Docker, Podman, containerd, etc.
  • Familiarity with flight simulation technologies and experimentation.
  • Familiarity with Gitlab and Atlassian products.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of DevSecOps.
  • Familiarity with aircraft Mission Systems (RADAR, IR Tracking, etc.) and with the Operational Use of a Modern Tactical Airborne Platform.
  • Familiarity with Agile SW Development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing.
  • Current Security+ Certification.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance w/ last completed investigation in last 5 years.
  • Willingness for occasional travel.

Nice to Have

Qualifications
