About the Role

KBR is looking for a specialist-level Software Engineer to support the development and maturation of USAF open architecture standards. The team leads architecture development, maturation, and coordination for multiple high-profile programs, focusing on open architecture software and systems that have a real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

Instantiate, develop, and mature open architecture software in a KBR environment
Produce and brief demonstrations of open architecture core software and architecture-compliant capabilities
Quickly understand and navigate complex systems with established code bases
Perform activities related to the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management, and quality control of software for scientific/engineering applications
Perform internal testing of software products and respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements
Participate in the design, development, and utilization of scientific/engineering electronic data processing systems software
Provide analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software
Participate in the development of engineering test strategies, devices, and systems

Requirements

Active TOP SECRET clearance
Experience with C++ development in a Linux environment
Experience with modern commercial software development practices using tools like GitLab, Jira, Artifactory, and Nexus
Experience with collaborative software development in either open source or professional team environments
BS in engineering or computer science and 2 years of related experience
At least 2+ years in C++ software development

Nice to Have

Government acquisition program experience
SAP experience
Experience with MBSE and design activities
Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and techniques
Familiarity with existing DoD open architectures, such as OMS
Knowledge of military systems and operational tactics
Developing software/hardware for flight systems
Preferred experience of 2+ years in a classified working environment

Qualifications

BS in engineering or computer science
2 years of related experience
