As a Senior Software Engineer within PNC's Asset Management Group organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX or Birmingham, AL. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable microservices using Spring Boot with a focus on RESTful API development and integration.
  • Build dynamic front-end interfaces using the Angular Framework.
  • Lead data mapping and transformation efforts across services, ensuring consistency and accuracy between source and target systems.
  • Develop, publish, and consume secure APIs supporting both synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
  • Collaborate with system integrators and downstream teams to ensure API contracts are well defined and documented (e.g., Swagger/Open API).
  • Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, enabling real-time messaging and data streaming, especially with Avro schema.
  • Integrate with Oracle databases and MongoDB, optimizing performance and managing complex queries and procedures.
  • Provide detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
  • Propose and design software solutions to address complex business needs.
  • Write, test, and deploy software; prepare technical and procedural documentation; maintain and debug software.
  • Work with testers to address bugs or defects and propose & design solutions.
  • Serve as a mentor for other team members.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Experience with designing and implementing microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Experience building front-end interfaces with Angular.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.
  • Experience with data mapping and transformation across services.
  • Experience with API security, including publishing and consuming secure APIs.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka and Avro schema.
  • Experience with Oracle databases and MongoDB, including performance optimization and complex queries.
  • Ability to write, test, and deploy software solutions.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
