As a Software Engineering Group Manager within PNC's Lending Technology organization, you will be based in one of several locations including Pittsburgh, PA; Strongsville, OH; Dallas, TX; Birmingham, AL; or Phoenix, AZ. The role involves managing development teams, interfacing with business leaders, and overseeing complex systems development and support.

Key Responsibilities

Manage 2 - 3 managers or senior managers responsible for the development and support of the Lending Originations Platform.
Interface with business leaders and serve as a liaison between partners and technology.
Manage multiple development projects, development groups, and application support functions for a major business segment.
Oversee the development and implementation of multiple, complex, organization-wide systems.
Allocate and ensure resource arrangements during the application development life cycle.
Maintain relationships with clients to ensure the implementation quality of application systems.
Provide solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation.

Requirements

Experience managing managers or senior managers, with a background in leading technical teams.
Strong proficiency in Java, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, and Microservices.
Solid understanding of software architecture, microservices, and event-driven design patterns.
Experience designing and developing solutions using core Java, SQL (MySQL), and ActiveMQ, Kafka.
Hands-on expertise in authentication & authorization systems, API frameworks (REST, GraphQL), and persistence stores.
Proficiency in database design and optimization, including relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases.
At least 8+ years of industry-relevant experience and 5+ years of prior management experience.
Bachelor's degree required; higher education or certifications are desirable.
Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility.

Nice to Have

Experience working with ElasticSearch and Redis.
Knowledge of performance tuning, application security, and scalability best practices.
Experience with modern software development methodologies, such as SAFe.
Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Bitbucket and Jenkins.
Experience using IntelliJ, Gradle, and writing JUnit test cases.

Qualifications

Industry-relevant experience of 8+ years.
At least 5 years of management experience.
Bachelor's degree required; higher education or certifications preferred.
