About the Role

Qualified candidates will engage in services and research related to the design and implementation of software applications. The position involves working on a media storage application optimized in the AI realm, under the supervision of a faculty member. The role is part of a student-focused environment that values opportunity, collaboration, diversity, and educational excellence at Ferris State University.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and implementing software requirements based on assigned projects.
Executing software verification activities using a variety of tools and programming languages.
Generating documentation related to software development.
Attending progress update meetings and reporting on progress and planning.
Presenting application demos to stakeholders.

Requirements

Enrolled in the Digital media software engineering program or similar software engineering focused programs.
Possesses full stack software implementation skills and previous proven experience.
Proven knowledge of the software implementation process with agile methodologies (like Scrum) and supporting tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.
Experience with machine learning algorithms using industry frameworks like TensorFlow with Python or OpenAI API.
Knowledge of media manipulation tools including ffmpeg and ffprobe.
Experience with Docker.

Qualifications

Enrolled student in relevant software engineering or digital media program.
