About the Role

The Software Engineering Intern (Student Position) at Ferris State University involves engaging in services and research related to the design and implementation of software applications. The role is part of the Digital Media Software department and offers an opportunity for students enrolled in relevant software engineering programs to gain practical experience under faculty supervision, focusing on media storage application optimization in the AI realm.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and implementing software requirements based on assigned projects.
Executing software verification activities using various tools and programming languages.
Generating documentation related to software development processes.
Attending progress update meetings and reporting on project progress.
Presenting application demos to stakeholders.

Requirements

Enrolled in the Digital Media Software Engineering program or similar software engineering focused programs.
Possesses full stack software implementation skills and previous proven experience.
Knowledge of the software implementation process with agile methodologies like Scrum.
Experience with software supporting tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.
Experience with machine learning algorithms using frameworks like TensorFlow with Python or OpenAI API.
Familiarity with media manipulation tools including ffmpeg and ffprobe.
Experience with Docker.
