The role involves working as an Engineering Manager on a Customer Order team, focusing on managing order settings, enabling asynchronous workflows, and providing analytics to support order processing and business health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explain the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and define what good looks like.
  • Mentor, coach, and empower a team of engineers to perform at their best and grow in their careers.
  • Create an inclusive and collaborative work environment where innovation thrives.
  • Provide technical guidance and judgment to ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and objectives are met.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define priorities and align technical goals with business objectives.
  • Iterate on team norms, engineering workflows, tools, and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for the engineering practices used on the team and measure aggregate outcomes.

Requirements

  • Track record as an Engineering Manager or technical team leader, managing and mentoring engineers.
  • Software engineering background with hands-on experience designing and building product software systems, preferably with experience in event-driven architectures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mental models for software development best practices, CI/CD, and system design principles.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Growth mindset with a focus on continuous learning and team development.
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence to motivate and support team members and address challenges constructively.
  • Experience recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with event-driven architectures.
