Key Responsibilities

  • Manages implementations of new hardware and software solutions and the ongoing maintenance for insurance policy administration systems.
  • Collaborates with managers (IT and business) to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with business and IT counterparts to ensure proper collaboration.
  • Leads efforts around project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring commitments and progress are monitored closely and communicated clearly.
  • Forecasts and allocates team members across several development projects.
  • Regularly reports key metrics such as resource allocation, software defects, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Trains, supervises, assigns projects to, evaluates, and is responsible for hiring/termination of IT personnel and contracting staff.
  • Manages talent to ensure high morale and appropriate advancement of individual goals and career aspirations.
  • Participates in the evaluation, acquisition, and implementation of software to support business processes.
  • Contributes to and implements established quality improvement initiatives and processes.

Requirements

  • Proven success as a team leader, supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust and encouraging improvement and innovation.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams including Pega architects, system architects, and developers (.NET/Angular).
  • Ability to translate complex functional, technical, and business requirements into architectural designs.
  • Experience developing high-level application designs and guiding detailed design work.
  • Knowledge of architecting and deploying web-based and web-enabled business applications.
  • Understanding of Angular, .NET Framework development techniques, and Low Code Platform development.
  • Preferred: Pega experience and understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), UML, and scalable architectures.
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and HTTP protocols.
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and other Microsoft backend technologies.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, especially SCRUM and SAFe.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with event-driven and delegate-based design paradigms.
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and patterns.
  • Experience with data modeling techniques and multi-tier, cross-platform architectures.
  • Familiarity with messaging architectures like SOAP, REST, XML, and Web Services.
