About the Role

Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for a Solutions Architect for their Toronto, ON/Hybrid location. The role involves providing strategic guidance on technology solutions, designing architecture frameworks, developing enterprise technology roadmaps, reviewing project blueprints, and offering expert consultation on complex applications and industry best practices. The Solutions Architect will work autonomously on high-profile, high-risk projects with significant organizational impact and will influence product direction from an architectural perspective.

Key Responsibilities

Provides strategic guidance ensuring technology teams and business areas understand the architectural options and technology choices that account for total cost of ownership.
Lead, design and/or develop an architecture framework including technology domain architecture strategy, policies, guiding principles and standards to govern how technology solutions will be developed and implemented.
Develop enterprise or segment technology roadmaps and associated plans.
Review project blueprints: Segment Architect approves or vetos blueprints based on alignment to enterprise standards.
Advise on how best to design overall solutions.
Oversee/define development specifications, technical requirements, system performance objectives and identify system modifications required to meet objectives.
Research/analyze business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture.
Provide expert consultation and participate as the top technical expert on high risk and complex client applications, programming languages, industry best practices, infrastructure, and architectural design/solutions.
Work autonomously on high-profile, complex, and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact.
Provide technical leadership, consulting, and direction to a larger team on all aspects of architecture.
Foresee architectural issues/gaps and identify emerging industry trends.
Influence product direction and integrate technology from an architectural perspective within the business environment.
Fulfill an IT governance role and provide recommendations on architectural improvements or enhancements.
Focus on areas such as Enterprise, Data, Application, and Technology Architecture as assigned.
