The Solutions Architect - Finance role involves leading and supporting IT architecture activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of solutions, including projects, systems, infrastructure, and shared services, to ensure they meet business needs and align with architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Creates and maintains capability maps that provide insights regarding capability gaps, underutilized capabilities, and duplicative capabilities in our technology eco-system.
  • Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application or misalignment with business requirements.
  • Supports product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh, or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information.
  • Facilitates the evaluation, selection, and TCO of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
  • Consults with application and infrastructure development projects to ensure systems or infrastructure fit the architecture and modifies designs as needed.
  • Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for implementing solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise strategy and standards.
  • Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
  • Works closely with the program management office (PMO) to ensure project execution aligns with plans and promises.
  • Provides architectural deliverables like reference models and designs to support governance and assess the impact of technology investments.
  • Supports a community of practice (CoP), guiding agile teams and product owners to align with enterprise architecture governance.
  • Defines principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure decisions align with the future-state architecture vision.

Requirements

  • Skilled at understanding the long-term ('big picture') and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and development teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven analytical, planning, organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, or cloud development.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences.
  • Good understanding of various database technologies and frontend web development languages.
  • Sound knowledge of enterprise, cloud, ERP, and finance systems/functions, especially Oracle EPM, IBM ECM, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, SAP Finance, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience with TMS (FIS Integrity, eBAM).
  • Strong understanding of finance system architecture, including modules like GL, AP, Fixed Assets, FP&A, and Treasury.
  • Expertise in integrating ERP systems with platforms such as CRM, HR, and Supply Chain.
  • Skilled in modern integration approaches using APIs, ETL, and cloud data platforms like Snowflake.
  • Experience in banking security, financial planning and analysis, treasury management systems, and letters of credit processes.
  • Data-savvy with knowledge of various aspects of technology architecture including integration, network, and security.
  • Good understanding of information principles and processes.
  • Knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (waterfall, agile, DevOps, etc.).
  • Understanding of IT standards and controls, application development methodologies, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Physical ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, reach, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform related physical tasks.
