About the Role

Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units. Avionics Software Intern projects vary but can include the design, development and testing of avionics hardware and software for programs ranging from orbital rockets, ground systems, test stands, to moon landers. During your internship experience, you can expect to gain hands-on, real-world experience, receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers, and participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and testing of avionics hardware and software for various spaceflight programs.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support projects related to orbital rockets, ground systems, test stands, and moon landers.
Participate in hands-on project work and contribute to real-world engineering tasks.
Engage in mentorship activities and organizational events to broaden understanding of Blue Origin's operations.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation (sophomore standing).
Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Interest in Blue's mission.
Relevant internship, co-op, or academic project experience demonstrating technical development and leadership qualities (desired).
Experience with software verification & testing (desired).
Exposure to CI/CD (desired).
Programming experience in C, C++, Python, JavaScript, Shell, or Rust (desired).
Experience with embedded software (desired).
Knowledge of ARINC Standards, UML/SW Design (desired).
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

Compensation range of $32 per hour for CA, CO, and WA applicants.
Housing and relocation support.
Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from work locations.
