About the Role

A well-known Financial Services Company is seeking a SQL Database Engineer/C# Developer for a long-term contract in Charlotte, NC. The role involves working with a leading financial institution, focusing on software engineering, database design, and development, with opportunities to collaborate on complex initiatives and contribute to innovative solutions in a hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
  • Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
  • Design and develop .NET applications using C# and the .NET Framework/Core, including web APIs, services, and user interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain data access layers using Entity Framework, ADO.NET for integration with SQL Server and other relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, etc.
  • Develop and implement business logic and components using OOP patterns.
  • Create technical documentation in Confluence, prepare release notes, and manage deployment processes across multiple environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and performance issues.
  • Design and develop SQL Server Stored procedures, T-SQL queries, views, and functions.
  • Analyze data requirements and develop strategic plans to import and transfer data between source, staging, and destination systems.
  • Work with SSIS packages, importing data from multiple sources including files and databases.
  • Collaborate with QA teams and peer developers for SIT and UAT testing.
  • Provide support for production issues and work with support teams to resolve them.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and provide technical specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, military experience, or education.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with front-end and middle-tier technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, XML, MVC, JQuery, and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with AJAX and JavaScript frameworks like jQuery.
  • Experience designing and building RESTful Web Services with WCF 3.0 and above.
  • Experience with SCM tools like GitHub and TFS.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in database design and development using SQL Server (2017 and higher).
  • 5+ years of experience with SSIS packages.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical development teams.
  • Experience working with various data sources such as RDBMS, JSON, XML, and files.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other ETL tools.
  • Experience in Azure Synapse and Fabric.
  • Experience in creating automated test scripts.
  • Experience using GitHub CoPilot.
  • Familiarity with Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys and SQL Agent.
  • Banking industry experience.
  • Experience with cloud integrations, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics CRM clouds.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology.
  • Experience communicating with business partners and project managers.
