About the Role

The Sr Manager, DevOps Engineering (Cortex) at Palo Alto Networks leads a team within the Cortex DevOps Engineering group, focusing on ensuring the reliability and availability of SaaS products, supporting infrastructure, automation, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of DevOps Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and efficiency.
Improve production support processes within the DevOps organization and engineering teams.
Track KPIs related to on-call alerts and support tickets.
Maintain and enhance the reliability and availability of SaaS products.
Support operations for the production of SaaS cybersecurity products, ensuring good service levels.
Assist in implementing automated remediation tools for known issues, security measures, and monitoring within cloud infrastructure.
Review existing processes, technologies, and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including InfoSec, development, and QA.
Work on Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to manage and orchestrate cloud deployment.
Assist in managing cloud environments, including Kubernetes clusters.
Participate in incident response and on-call rotation, supporting applications and infrastructure.

Requirements

10+ years of experience as a DevOps/SRE/Technical Support engineer, with a focus on reliability.
5+ years of experience in a team lead or management role.
Experience with scripting languages such as Shell scripts and Python, and a basic understanding of Linux systems.
Experience with virtualized and containerized environments, including Kubernetes and Docker.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to new technologies.
Familiarity with cloud platform operations (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) is advantageous.
Basic understanding of CI/CD and Configuration Management tools (e.g., Jenkins) is advantageous.
A passion for technology and innovation.
