Sr Manager, Product Design

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design strategy for CBS Sports mobile apps, delivering solutions that drive fan engagement, business outcomes, and product quality.
• Manage and support a growing design team working across both the live app and new innovation efforts.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Research to shape roadmaps, align on priorities, and guide design work from concept to execution.
• Prototype and test new ideas with a balance of speed and craft, always focused on real fan value.
• Design experiences that prioritize performance, accessibility, and ease of use.
• Contribute to and evolve the mobile design system (Playbook) to support consistent and scalable solutions.
• Mentor and grow your team, helping designers level up their skills, think critically, and do their best work.
• Help define new patterns and interaction models that reflect where the future of sports media is headed.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience, with deep expertise in mobile applications.
• A track record of shipping and maintaining large-scale consumer-facing products.
• Experience guiding teams through complexity and shaping design strategy in fast-moving environments.
• Ability to inspire, support, and elevate a team of designers with clarity and empathy.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional leaders to influence product direction.
• Mastery of interaction and visual design, with a strong sense of systems and motion design.
• Proficiency in Figma or similar tools and a deep understanding of design system implementation.
• Familiarity with both iOS and Android platform conventions, with the ability to make smart platform-specific decisions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and advocate for user needs across the organization.
• Commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and thoughtful design for a diverse audience.
• A curious, experimental mindset and an eagerness to learn and explore what's possible through technology and design.
