This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach and mentor a team of Software Quality Engineers responsible for the software quality in a variety of complex spaceflight programs in different stages of development
Assure that the development life cycle and the activities that occur in each phase are compliant with the approved plans, customer requirements, and Quality System requirements
Monitor and audit all aspects of software development including planning, design and development, configuration management, verification and validation, and transition to production
Provide software supplier oversight
Generate metrics and trends for managing risk and communicating software readiness for safety critical operations
Participate in software engineering design reviews and make recommendations to enhance the quality of new software designs
Monitor and audit complex electronic hardware development activities

Requirements

5+ years experience in auditing and assuring software development assurance process compliance
5+ years industry experience in software engineering field or software quality engineer role
5+ years experience identifying software process-related problems, performing root cause analysis and managing corrective actions
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Familiarity with Software quality assurance standards (RTCA/DO-178C, RTCA/DO-254, AS9115, CMMI)
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice to Have

3+ years leadership experience leading Software Quality teams
Relevant experience transitioning a product from development, through production to operations
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science discipline
Experience with Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation
American Society of Software Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
