The Senior Principal Engineer DevOps (25-293) role is based in Colorado Springs, CO, supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels, focusing on the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program within the Missile Defense System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts using tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using technologies including Bash, Python, Ansible, and PowerShell.
  • Test and validate automation solutions to ensure they meet requirements and are free from defects.
  • Support the design, implementation, and management of a complex hyperconverged cloud infrastructure on the Nutanix platform.
  • Track the impact of events/actions on the underlying infrastructure, such as patching and maintenance.

Requirements

  • A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university with 8 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Red Hat OpenStack, or Nutanix.
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server system administration.
  • Experience with scripting languages including Bash, Python, PowerShell, and automation tools like Ansible.
  • Experience working within a Scrum team in an Agile environment.
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security).

Nice to Have

  • Current and active DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Prior experience with Nutanix Hyperconverged on-prem cloud platform.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Scrum Master experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 8 years of experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience.
