About the Role

We're hiring Sr. Full Stack Developers to join an advanced technology initiative that is building a brand-new platform from the ground up. Backed by well-established corporate partners but operating with a startup mindset, this team is creating scalable, cloud-based solutions with the potential for nationwide deployment. This is a ground-floor opportunity to work on complex distributed systems that enable high-performance data delivery across connected environments. The product has long-term scale potential and is expected to support a wide range of industries and use cases, with projections of rapid growth over the next few years. As part of a small, hands-on engineering team, you'll contribute to core architectural decisions, own end-to-end development cycles, and collaborate with senior leadership to shape technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and build scalable, secure microservices and APIs using Node.js and cloud-native patterns.
Develop robust backend logic and clean, responsive front-end interfaces using React and TypeScript.
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and collaborative whiteboard sessions to solve complex technical challenges.
Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless feature development, deployment, and performance optimization.
Contribute to infrastructure efforts using Docker, CI/CD, and cloud-native services (AWS preferred).
Support the evolution of the platform with performance tuning, observability, and documentation.

Requirements

6+ years of professional software development experience in full stack environments.
Strong proficiency in Node.js (Express framework) and React.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (or equivalent).
Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerized environments.
Familiarity with MongoDB and/or other NoSQL databases, plus relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL.
Strong understanding of system design principles and distributed architectures.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working 5 days/week onsite in Hunt Valley, MD.
Ability to participate in in-person interviews and live code exercises.

Nice to Have

TypeScript experience on both frontend and backend.
Experience with Kafka or other event streaming/data pipeline tools.
Background in high-throughput, real-time systems or distributed data delivery.
Familiarity with serverless architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda).
Prior experience working in fast-paced, early-stage product teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Exposure to enterprise integration, system interoperability, or IoT data delivery environments.
