Moderna Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Engineer for its Seattle, Washington location. Key Responsibilities

Develop websites using complex frameworks including the React framework.
Create efficient and reusable APIs using Open API standards.
Work with code versioning systems including Git.
Develop websites and backend services using languages such as JavaScript and Java.
Set up and manage new Cloud infrastructure using providers like Amazon Web Services.
Deliver code enhancements including refactoring or deprecating existing code.
Develop and deliver working code based on functional definitions including inputs, outputs, and logic.
Separate components and collaborate with teammates and managers to build multi-component software.
Use industry-standard tools and processes including source control and code review.
Diagnose and identify root causes of issues in existing software.
Apply tradeoffs among efficiency and maintainability in coding.
Function independently with regular checkpoints such as code reviews and daily standups.
Communicate effectively about timelines and work delivery.
Lead development and release of new features and iterations, guiding teammates through the process.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or related field.
Four (4) years of experience in software development or related roles.
Experience designing and building backend features using Java, Ruby, C#, or C++.
Experience applying systems design or coding patterns to solve business problems.
Experience conducting code reviews.
Experience designing or building user-facing features, infrastructure components, or data pipelines using JavaScript or TypeScript.
Experience with automated unit testing and manual testing of applications.
May telecommute two days per week.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud infrastructure management.
Experience with complex frameworks like React.
Experience with API standards such as Open API.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Experience with JavaScript and Java coding languages.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
Four years of professional experience in software development roles.
