Key Responsibilities

  • Lead software development, verification, and validation for embedded biowearable products, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.
  • Implement FDA-compliant design control procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for embedded software projects.
  • Ensure high-quality software delivery within schedule constraints.
  • Provide technical ownership of software products written in C, C++, and C#.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams developing new designs.
  • Interact with QA engineers to ensure software quality.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and techniques for productivity and code quality.
  • Research technical issues and propose solutions.
  • Participate in full development life cycle from specification to support.
  • Resolve significant technical issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Lead technical teams and develop cross-functional networks.
  • Adjust priorities and collaborate within team environments to meet project objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership in software tool development, project estimation, and scheduling.
  • Lead technical teams in software design and maintenance activities.
  • Develop networks involving cross-functional and cross-departmental groups as well as communication to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience, or Master's Degree with 7+ years, or Ph.D. with 2+ years.
  • Good knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Programming experience in C programming languages.
  • Experience with structured software development and/or Object Modeling Design.
  • Experience with software development of embedded systems for safety-critical products.
  • Strong debugging techniques and experience with debuggers in an embedded environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of device driver and low-level device interface design and development.
  • Familiarity with signal and data processing algorithms and related mathematical models.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in model-based design (UML or SysML).
  • Detailed experience with medical device development processes and FDA 510K and PMA regulatory requirements.
  • Team leadership experience and mentorship capabilities.
  • Experience with Source Control Management.
  • Experience with testing of embedded devices.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies and development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, SaaS, or enterprise software.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.

Qualifications

  • Educational background including a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a Ph.D. with 2+ years.
