Staff Applied Scientist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain statistical and machine learning solutions leveraging NLP, generative AI, and reinforcement learning.
• Accelerate career growth by being a thought leader in the ML space and identifying opportunities to automate prescription processing.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, data scientists, and pharmacists to understand business needs and create impactful ML applications.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor applied scientists and data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices within the Data Science team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics.
• 12 or more years of experience as an Applied Scientist, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience developing machine learning models with business impact and deploying ML/AI solutions to production.
• Experience with NLP, large language models, Generative AI, and Reinforcement Learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python, proficiency in SQL, and experience with machine learning tools like scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras/TensorFlow.

Nice to Have

• PhD in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics.
• Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with supply chain optimization, marketplaces, or logistics.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, leveraging tools like Kubeflow.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for influencing non-technical audiences.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills with a bias toward actionable insights.
• Experience applying project management fundamentals and data-based prioritization.

Qualifications

• Educational background with at least a Master's degree in a relevant quantitative field.
• Extensive experience in machine learning model development and deployment.
• Proficiency in NLP, large language models, and reinforcement learning.
