Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical direction and execution of all engineering aspects on a program, including design, development, implementation, integration, testing, and delivery of products to the customer.
  • Serve as the senior technical leader for the program engineering team, acting as technical advisor and delegate to the program manager.
  • Ensure all engineering teams adhere to sound engineering processes, company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain cognizance over technical activities within program's Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and promote best engineering practices across the company.
  • Perform systems engineering and program management roles as necessary.
  • Set a vision, build a high-performing team, and lead technical decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Engage with customers to guide technical specifications and requirements evolution.
  • Lead technical proposals, risk assessments, and initial requirements compliance evaluations.
  • Support program setup, initial start, and milestone reviews including SRR, architecture review, and requirements review.
  • Develop and evaluate program concepts, schedules, and technical roadmaps.
  • Oversee design evolution, technical risk mitigation, manufacturability, and cost performance.
  • Provide guidance on technical issues, resolve conflicts, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 14+ years of related technical experience, or Master's degree with 12+ years of experience.
  • Experience as a Subject Matter Expert, Technical Lead, IPT Lead, or similar engineering leadership role.
  • Broad experience across multiple engineering disciplines including design, analysis, materials, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Technical proficiency in material testing, metals, fiber reinforced composites, failure mechanisms, and applications.
  • Experience with discrepancy resolution, RCCA, MRB, and FRB processes.
  • Knowledge of FAA, FAR, and DoD requirements and programs.
  • Experience in designing and analyzing aircraft structural and/or mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with RF electrical properties, RF analysis, and test techniques.
  • Experience with development programs including IRAD or customer-funded R&D.
  • Ability to mentor, provide feedback, and make sound decisions impacting operations.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with ceramic materials and high-temperature applications.
  • Experience with design and analysis software such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, NX, Teamcenter, LS Dyna.
  • Current, active DoD Secret clearance or higher, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret and SCI clearances.
  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and foreign customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with extensive related experience or Master's degree with relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership in engineering roles such as SME, Technical Lead, or IPT Lead.
  • Experience with mission-critical systems from design through full-rate production.
  • Technical expertise in materials, composites, and structural analysis.
