As a Staff DevOps Engineer at Teladoc Health, you'll play a critical role in shaping how we build, test, release and run software across our global suite of healthcare solutions. You will lead high-impact initiatives focused on automation, reliability, scalability, and security—driving best-in-class DevOps practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a long-term vision for DevSecOps practices that meet the requirements and needs of the commercial platform and application teams.
  • Lead system design and architecture efforts, serving as a trusted partner to ensure scalability, observability, reliability, and security are built into systems from day one.
  • Decompose complex problems into clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with software architects to optimize cloud-native application design, including compute, caching, load balancing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring strategies.
  • Own the design and improvement of CI/CD/CT pipelines; contribute directly to pipeline features and integration work.
  • Guide engineering teams on ITIL-aligned practices and compliance with regulatory frameworks such as HiTrust and FedRAMP.
  • Mentor and support the career growth of junior engineers; lead by example in technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Participate in roadmap planning, technical prioritization, and cross-team coordination to ensure DevOps strategies are embedded across product teams.
  • Lead vulnerability patching and cloud infrastructure reviews in partnership with the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Contribute to internal documentation on architecture, tooling, and standard operating procedures.
  • Deliver internal workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to empower teams on DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as a senior escalation point.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure roles, lead experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, focusing on solutions over problems.
  • Skilled in managing complex software and infrastructure projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Hands-on experience with designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Proficient in automation scripting with one at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Java, Scala, Groovy, Python.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required, Ansible is a plus).
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes required).
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure required), APIs, and large-scale systems management.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, version control (Git), and issue tracking (Jira).
  • Knowledge of system monitoring and visualization tools (New Relic and/or Grafana experience required).
  • Must be able to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Nice to Have

  • Strong experience collaborating with customers, partners, or third-party developers.
  • Additional experience in Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, Artifactory, and Selenium.
  • Experience working with Postgres, MySQL, Capistrano, Puppet.
  • Background in managing hybrid cloud or multi-region infrastructure environments.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or high-compliance environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work across distributed teams.

Qualifications

  • Educational background is not explicitly specified, but extensive experience in DevOps/SRE roles is required.

Benefits & Perks
