Job Description

About the Role

This role involves leading, planning, and performing the design, driver development, integration, testing, debugging, and validation of real-time embedded software, embedded RTOS environments, embedded systems, microcontroller firmware, communication protocols, and platforms for wireless chipsets including 3G, 4G, 5G, AI, and other current and future technologies. The position requires developing and debugging platforms, improving software development processes, supporting customer issues, creating engineering documentation, and contributing to design reviews and project meetings within Qualcomm's engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and perform the design, driver development, integration, test, debugging, and validation of embedded software and systems.
  • Develop and debug platforms in addition to on-target development.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement tools and processes to continually improve the software development process.
  • Provide support on customer issues and requirements to Software Application Engineers.
  • Create engineering documentation for intellectual property and prepare technical specifications and requirements.
  • Act as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicate and implement development plans.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with three (3) years of experience, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with seven (7) years of progressive experience in a related occupation.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in embedded software development, driver development, and system validation.
  • Knowledge of real-time embedded systems, embedded RTOS, and communication protocols.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement development tools and processes.
