About the Role

The Staff Software Engineer enhances and maintains software products by translating backlog items into technical designs that meet business needs, while determining the technical feasibility of features. They provide strategic solutions for issues, review technical design specifications, and ensure quality in development practices. The role involves guiding other engineers, collaborating with Business Systems Analysts, Test/QA Engineers, and Product Managers to drive key business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Determine technical feasibility criteria and identify next steps for software and features.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex software issues by analyzing root causes and assessing their impact on system performance.
  • Offer strategic solutions, analysis, and advice regarding identified issues for future development.
  • Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers in React and React Native best practices and micro-frontend architectures.
  • Maintain the stability and usability of the platform across all environments.
  • Translate and/or review backlog items into physical designs and logical units, ensuring designs meet business requests.
  • Design, develop, and rigorously test assigned software components following established methodologies.
  • Participate in designing and developing test automation frameworks and in-house tools.
  • Implement automated testing and integrate best practices within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure quality assurance and incorporate feedback into development artifacts.
  • Use DevOps and Agile processes to deliver functionality quickly and iteratively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in React-based web and mobile application development, with at least 3 years focused on React Native.
  • Deep understanding of React Native framework, including functional components, hooks, and context API.
  • Experience building APIs using GraphQL.
  • Experience working in DevOps and Agile environments.
  • Proficiency with multiple programming languages, especially modern full stack web applications using React.
  • Experience with development platforms such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced knowledge of software design principles, application servers, middleware, and related tools.
  • Expert-level understanding of React.js, lifecycle, state management, hooks, and context API.
  • Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), asynchronous requests, AJAX.
  • Experience developing cross-platform mobile apps for iOS and Android using React Native.
  • Proficiency in native modules for iOS or Android and native build tools like XCode and Gradle.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like Tailwind.
  • Knowledge of state management libraries such as Redux or MobX.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library.
  • Experience with build tools like Webpack, Rollup, or Parcel.
  • Working knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Strong skills in responsive design using HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
  • Experience with deployment processes, app store standards, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Familiarity with feature flags and release management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in React development, with at least 3 years in React Native.
