Key Responsibilities

Work with engineering teams to design, develop and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects on a contemporary tech stack (Redis, Docker, Terraform on AWS). Review and adapt the infrastructure to federal air-gapped environments.
Operate, support, and upgrade shared services and frameworks, scaling them as usage grows along with Okta's business.
Conduct design and code reviews, ensuring high programming standards by writing unit and functional tests.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and fix services and frameworks owned by the team.
Evaluate system performance and resolve bottlenecks.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Collaborate with architects, QA, product owners, security, and operations engineers.

Requirements

US citizenship with TS/SCI security clearance level.
Experience with Federal and DoD compliance requirements such as FedRAMP and IL6.
Solid experience in architecting, implementing, releasing, tuning, and debugging in federal air-gapped environments.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent; master's preferred.
5+ years of extensive programming experience in an object-oriented language like Java, especially in backend services, with a strong understanding of multithreading, garbage collection, and memory management.
3+ years of experience working with MySQL or equivalent relational databases, including designing databases and query tuning.
3+ years of experience developing, operating, and troubleshooting web services on Kubernetes, with experience in AWS EKS a plus.
Demonstrated experience with REST and understanding of its fundamentals; knowledge of gRPC is a plus.
Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Tomcat, AWS, Redis, and Docker.
Knowledge of network security, authentication, and authorization.
Proven adherence to best software engineering principles.
Experience working with enterprise SaaS solutions.

Nice to Have

Experience with gRPC.
Experience with AWS EKS.
Experience designing for federal air-gapped environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent; master's preferred.
Security clearance at TS/SCI level.
