About the Role

The Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist plans, directs, and implements in-plant quality assurance programs for contracts assigned to the Contract Management Office (CMO). The role involves guiding, motivating, and overseeing subordinates with a focus on project and program issues, assuming ownership of processes and products, resolving complex problems across multiple areas, and using innovative approaches to impact policies and programs. The position requires completing multiple project and program goals within established guidelines and supports the mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and implements in-plant quality assurance programs for contracts assigned to the Contract Management Office (CMO).
  • Guides, motivates, and oversees subordinates with a focus on project/program issues.
  • Assumes ownership of processes and products as appropriate.
  • Resolves diverse, highly complex problems across multiple areas and disciplines.
  • Uses innovative approaches to resolve unusual and difficult issues that significantly impact important policies and programs.
  • Anticipates problems, then develops solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission success.
  • Completes multiple project and program goals within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
  • Selectively, males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to perform the duties of the position and is directly related to this position.
  • Providing technical advice to implement contractor manufacturing, quality assurance processes, and systems that impact product quality.
  • Implementing continuous improvement techniques on contractor performance to assure contractual compliance with all contractual requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with contractor manufacturing and quality assurance systems.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience in managing or supervising teams in a quality assurance environment.

Qualifications

  • Educational substitution may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
