About the Role

Sony Pictures Television Studios (SPTS) is one of the industry's leading content providers, producing programming worldwide across genres and platforms. As the largest independent TV studio in the industry, SPTS produces over 50 shows annually, including THE BOYS, COBRA KAI, THE GOOD DOCTOR, OUTLANDER, and PLATONIC. SPTS is part of Sony Pictures Television (SPT), a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Group Corporation. This newly created role will lead the creative marketing team within SPTS, shaping and elevating the brand vision, voice, and strategy for all SPTS IP, working closely with streaming and linear partners to influence platform launch campaigns and activations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evolve a team of 15+ marketing leads across marketing operations, production, creative design, video/social production, event activations, and other key areas into a high-performing team overseeing 20+ active series across live action, animation, and kids' content.
  • Strategize, ideate, and execute effective 360 marketing campaigns and branding initiatives for television-driven IP, focusing on adult-targeted series across major streamers.
  • Develop strong relationships with streaming and linear partners to demonstrate the value of studio marketing within the content ecosystem.
  • Pivot the team to a social-first marketing organization, cultivating fandom through understanding social platforms, creative formats, influencer programs, and high ROI initiatives.
  • Create an efficient marketing operations team by implementing processes for on-set shoots, approvals, project management, and asset management using appropriate software and technology.
  • Balance internal and external resources to maximize budgets while driving innovation.
  • Lead creative efforts for event activations such as San Diego Comic Con.
  • Support the Franchise Management team in elevating series IP to revenue-generating businesses, including creating content strategies to sustain IP between seasons.
  • Develop a team focused on the right priorities with suitable capabilities, systems, and workflows to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Inspire others with passion, positive energy, curiosity, and an entrepreneurial spirit rooted in innovation.

Requirements

  • Seasoned creative television/streaming marketing division head with 15+ years of experience leading teams across creative, production, and operations in an agency-type environment.
  • Ability to balance internal and external resources to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Proven success in creating the creative vision for successful streaming campaigns for adult-targeted series, including key art, trailers, social content, and activations.
  • Experience working across multiple genres such as live action drama, comedy, animation, and kids' content.
  • Ability to work proactively in an entrepreneurial environment with initiative and follow-through.
  • Experience collaborating with producers, creators, and actors, and influencing creative differences.
  • Strong knowledge of global asset management, pipeline, workflow, distribution, and analytics, with an interest in testing new AI platforms and tracking ROI.
  • Ability to implement analytics and research to evaluate and adapt campaigns dynamically.
  • Deep relationships with artistic talent and industry contacts to facilitate high-quality creative collaborations.
  • Experience launching and managing social studio infrastructure and creating 360 campaigns on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
  • Experience managing marketing operations, including project management tools, approval systems, asset management, on-set production, international crews, and union issues.
  • Proven ability to inspire and mentor teams and executives, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Advertising, Fine Art, Film, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in entertainment or media companies with a focus on social media and digital campaigns.

Benefits & Perks

  • Annual salary ranging from $255,000 to $330,000, with potential for annual incentive and comprehensive benefits.
