Systems Integrator

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions to total systems and interfaces using internally created or commercial off-the-shelf products.
• Provide a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components.
• Coordinate with the Sponsor and other team members to provide technical guidance for the Sponsor's optical networks.
• Provide design and integration services to upgrade the Sponsor's legacy services, resolving design and integration issues.
• Mitigate risk when planning and implementing new systems.
• Make recommendations on test and evaluation strategies for major systems' installations.
• Ensure user satisfaction in the design, transition, and implementation of new technologies.
• Ensure adequate planning for hardware installation and integration.
• Communicate and plan installation and network changes with Sponsor's facilities and site management departments.
• Prepare engineering plan and site installation plan technical design packages for hardware and software.
• Research new technology and implement or recommend its implementation.
• Establish standard functional and technical specifications.
• Solve hardware and software interface problems.
• Ensure integration of entire system and subsystems in all new and future network designs.
• Coordinate with Vendors and company personnel to facilitate purchases.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Demonstrated experience providing optical service.
• Experience with Dense Wave Division Multiplexer (DWDM) design and implementation.
• Experience with legacy optical carrier equipment and Synchronize Optical Network.
• Experience with data communications networks to manage devices.
• Experience in optical engineering and fiber optic systems.
• Experience in the field of optics and network integration.
• Experience using the Agile software development methodology.
• Experience producing reports and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau or SharePoint.
• Experience with HTML and browser compatibility baselines.
• Customer service skills responding to senior level requests.

Nice to Have

• Experience working both independently and on teams with minimal oversight.
• Skills and capabilities with Sponsor computer systems to produce ad hoc reports on project activity and schedules for senior management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills across multiple customer communication needs.
• Experience coordinating between the Sponsor and its partners, responding to clients from new-hire technicians to high-level staff.
