About the Role

CACI is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to leverage proven skills in full cycle technical writing and editing services to support Government funded contracted taskings. The role involves reorganizing, editing, formatting, and rewriting technical content, creating graphics, and collaborating with stakeholders. The position offers flexibility in work site location, including customer sites, CACI offices, and home sites, with a requirement to be within commuting distance of specified Naval Shipyards. The work supports national security missions and emphasizes integrity, trust, continuous growth, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, proofread, edit, format, layout, and design a wide variety of customer work products, including workbooks, manuals, training materials, technical reports, performance reports, presentations, white papers, slide decks, and SOPs.
  • Gather information and requirements, interview and collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts, conduct research, and express technical information clearly for the intended audience.
  • Create graphic models to convey technical material effectively.
  • Provide briefings or reports on work progress and lead work product development/revision meetings to gather suggestions, implement feedback, and ensure quality.
  • Maintain all technical and non-technical files related to work products and manage updates, version control, and revisions in the knowledge management repository.
  • Take ownership of assignments to ensure products are produced with quality, accuracy, efficiency, and on deadline.
  • Support execution of contract requirements, including submission of supporting data, metrics, and timely written reports.
  • May perform overflow Graphic Designer responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Interim Secret security clearance and subsequent final DOD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum 10 years of directly applicable work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional related work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and expert-level skills in writing, editing, formatting, and proofreading.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder interviews.
  • Proficiency in organizing and presenting information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others to define project requirements.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master, Certified Agilist, PMP, or CTW.
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and iterative documentation.
  • Active DOD Secret security clearance.
  • Work experience with the Naval Maintenance Community, U.S. Navy, or Department of Defense.
  • Navy mechanic/electrician experience or background in Shipyard maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 10 years of applicable experience if no degree).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.
