About the Role

TEMP-Engineering (Junior Data Scientist) at Georgia Tech is a temporary, full-time position supporting engineering services related to research efforts within an academic or research unit. The role involves participating in system design, analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation, contributing to research projects in a university environment committed to innovation, diversity, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the design, installation and testing of systems and components.
Develop engineering project schedules, plans, and specifications for systems and components.
Conduct analyses of system performance; prescribe corrective action.
Troubleshoot systems; may involve calibration and repair work.
Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and other documentation associated with components and systems.
Provide input to and administer project engineering budgets.
Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
Participate in project reviews for conformance to quality standards and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Up to two years of job related experience.
Application of engineering principles, processes and practices.
Knowledge of regulations, codes and safety practices.
Utilization of basic and advanced computer applications.
Communication skills.

Nice to Have

Professional Engineer (PE).
Experience analyzing large-scale health care claims data.
Experience building Tableau dashboards and data visualizations.
Experience analyzing health care data using Python, R, SQL.
Familiarity with machine learning models and classification tasks.
Experience collaborating and communicating across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
Up to two years of relevant experience.
