Test Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Verifying and validating whether solutions meet specified requirements across all phases of the solutions development lifecycle.
• Implementing quality assurance objectives and processes, monitoring and evaluating testing results, and applying recommended actions for improvements.
• Performing quality control activities including performance and solution testing.
• Providing technical team leadership for senior professionals in the role.
• Developing and executing test plans, test cases, and scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Creating or contributing to test plans and translating requirements into test scenarios.
• Developing test data, interface stubs, and simulators as needed.
• Executing test scripts, monitoring results, and documenting issues in defect tracking systems.
• Communicating testing results and providing recommendations based on issues discovered.
• Monitoring, evaluating, and making recommendations on testing tasks within enterprise processes such as change and release management.
• Supporting technical issues, upgrades, and compliance reviews.
• Producing SDLC-compliant documentation during project releases.
• Participating in requirement/design reviews, sprint/release planning, and lessons learned sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Solution testing experience as a full-time associate, intern, or with business experience.
• Knowledge of Software Testing frameworks and Solution Development Methodology.
• Familiarity with testing tools and their uses, including understanding of script execution and reporting.
• Ability to use manual testing tools and support testing efforts.
• Experience documenting and executing testing policies and standards.
• Strong knowledge of relevant technology, tools, and software such as SDLC, TFS, HP Test tools, or equivalent.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

• Experience in feedyard operations or industries with complex billing, accounting, or inventory systems.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft tools with a strong understanding of data analysis and workflows.
• Self-starter with a keen eye for detail who thrives in a remote work environment and collaborates effectively with virtual teams.
