Job Description

About the Role

The UX Content Conversation Designer creates engaging, user-centric conversational experiences for digital products and services. This role involves developing conversational flows for chatbots, voice assistants, and AI-powered interfaces, supporting user-centered design solutions across various digital initiatives. The position is a multiyear contract based in Vienna, VA, with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing conversational flows for chatbots, voice assistants, and other AI-powered interfaces
  • Supporting and developing user-centered design solutions for all levels of products and digital initiatives via user interface solutions and interaction models
  • Developing project execution plans, deployment schedules, and implementing UX design projects of moderate to complex scope
  • Creating prototypes for testing to ensure design meets business and user objectives
  • Influencing team members and business partners by explaining the impact of designing with the end user in mind
  • Collaborating with project teams to define solutions
  • Operating within the appropriate Design Thinking methodology based on product, channel, audience, and application requirements
  • Proactively identifying and addressing user experience or design issues to ensure projects stay on track

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in designing and developing conversational flows for chatbots, voice assistants, and AI interfaces
  • Proficiency in usability testing and user research
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conversational UI/UX projects
  • Familiarity with conversation design tools
  • Significant experience in design fundamentals, interaction design, visual design, and industry standards
  • Experience in user-centered design processes and best practices
  • Ability to interpret requirements into executable design solutions
  • Strong cross-group collaboration and persuasion skills
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience analyzing business processes and functions
  • Advanced skills in managing timelines, deadlines, and resources to ensure successful project implementation

Nice to Have

  • Experience with web and mobile-based content, tools, and forms
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking methodology tailored to product, channel, and audience

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in UX and conversational design
