UX/ADA Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough audits of existing digital products or systems to identify accessibility barriers and potential violations.
• Develop detailed remediation plans to address identified accessibility issues, including technical fixes and design changes.
• Design accessible user interfaces that ensure usability for individuals with disabilities, considering assistive technologies.
• Perform testing and validation using automated tools and manual methods to ensure accessibility standards are met.
• Prepare clear reports outlining audit findings, remediation plans, and progress updates.
• Deliver reports, design documents, code changes, and training materials as specified by CLIENT supervisors.

Requirements

• Expertise in ADApliance, including familiarity with WCAG guidelines and relevant legal frameworks.
• Knowledge of ADA Compliance Tools and Utilities such as Siteimprove Accessibility, Color Contrast Analyzer (CCA), ACTF, SortSite Desktop, NVDA.
• Strong UX design skills, including user research, prototyping, and usability testing.
• Technical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DotNet ASP/ASPX, and experience with accessibility tools.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Must be local to the Carson City, NV area and able to work onsite.

Nice to Have

• Experience with website authoring and maintenance.
• Experience with long-term project engagement and system enhancements.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks related to accessibility beyond WCAG.

Qualifications

• Experience with ADA compliance and accessibility tools.
• Proficiency in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DotNet ASP/ASPX.
