About the Role

The Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer II is responsible for building and maintaining large-scale software products, utilizing microservices architecture, and supporting production and performance engineering. The role involves collaborating with internal business groups, guiding technology strategies, mentoring junior developers, and staying abreast of emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain large-scale software products utilizing microservices architecture.
  • Conduct automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices to ensure efficient software delivery.
  • Support in production environments and contribute to performance engineering efforts.
  • Work with internal business groups to understand implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.
  • Analyze information and provide recommendations to address and resolve business issues for specific business groups.
  • Guide and consult with IT management and technical staff regarding emerging technologies and services.
  • Participate in defining corporate strategies for technology implementation and integration.
  • Mentor junior developers and engineers to support team growth and skill development.
  • Engage in active learning, complete mandatory training, and utilize learning tools like Pluralsight.
  • Advocate for innovative and creative technology solutions.

Requirements

  • 7-9 years of experience in software development, with 7-10 years in Java/JEE, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience in building and maintaining best-in-class software products using microservices.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience with Microservices, Rest API, and SQL.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and building transactional systems with RDBMS such as SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Experience in conducting automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Team City, and TDD.
  • Experience in project lifecycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
  • Understanding of in-production support and performance engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry.
  • Prior consulting experience with structured methodologies.
  • Experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.
  • Understanding of interdependencies and business impact of IT plans.
  • Experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
