The role of Vice President, Marketing and Data Science involves designing, building, and delivering advanced data science and marketing science solutions within Publicis's CoreAI platform to support global media engagement with Mars, Inc., focusing on technical innovation and effective delivery of analytic solutions in areas such as measurement, forecasting, experimental design, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with analytic leadership and account strategists to translate Mars business and brand challenges into Marketing Science and Data Science frameworks and predictive models.
  • Define the overall analytic vision and build the measurement roadmap to serve as the foundation for segments, regions, and agency partners.
  • Assess current Publicis capabilities and marketing science offerings, then propose and own a Capabilities Roadmap.
  • Design and develop customized analytic products leveraging connected data networks, advanced modeling techniques, industry best practices, and a product-innovation mindset.
  • Conduct workshops and strategic discussions with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Translate cross-industry business and brand challenges into analytic frameworks and algorithms for embedding into CoreAI workflows.
  • Lead the team building marketing science analytics solutions using machine learning/AI techniques, factorial test designs, bandits, time series forecasting, and optimization algorithms.
  • Oversee team members working on applied marketing science and machine learning techniques to derive actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
  • Support the development of AI-augmented performance reporting into BI visualization dashboards like Tableau, Power BI, or Datorama.
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring solutions meet platform and client objectives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful implementation.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients, translating technical details into actionable business strategies, and monitor model performance for refinement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and media analytics with a major marketing and advertising network or similar client-side roles.
  • Proven experience in client-facing roles and delivering advanced analytics to clients.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing Science, Business, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field; Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of statistical modeling and predictive analytic techniques such as MMM, multi-touch attribution, DCO, customer segmentation, and media scenario planning.
  • Experience with systematic test design and improvement approaches like factorials and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Programming experience in Python, R, SQL, SAS, Dataiku, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modeling frameworks including hierarchical and network models, OLAP design, predictive and time series data modeling, and knowledge graphs.
  • Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau, Datorama, or Power BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and leading cross-functional projects.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with deep learning and neural networks.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific marketing and media analytics solutions.
  • Experience working with large and unstructured datasets from various sources such as web, mobile, in-store, and digital channels.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing & media analytics.
  • Proven client-facing experience and delivering advanced analytics.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields; Ph.D. is a plus.
